Tanzania Radio Stations

Swahili unites Tanzanian radio from Dar es Salaam to the shores of Lake Victoria. The public Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation runs TBC Taifa nationally, but private players define the modern sound: Clouds FM drives the bongo flava scene, while Radio Free Africa broadcasts from Mwanza to huge upcountry audiences. Taarab music holds strong in Zanzibar, gospel and Congolese rumba fill weekend schedules, and Kiswahili talk radio shapes national debate.
