Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT runs the flagship LRT Radijas, cultural channel Klasika, and youth-oriented Opus 3. M-1, launched in 1989 as the Baltic states shook off Soviet rule, was the first independent commercial station in the region and still tops music ratings. Lithuanian is the language of the air, with Polish and Russian minority programming, and domestic pop shares playlists with the country's strong choral tradition.
