Liberia Radio Stations

Liberian radio speaks the country's distinctive English — Liberian Kreyol colours everything from news reading to phone-in banter — alongside Kpelle, Bassa and other indigenous languages on community stations. The state Liberia Broadcasting System runs ELBC, while UN-founded independent stations helped rebuild trust after civil war. Hipco, Liberia's own hip-hop dialect genre, rules youth programming, joined by gospel and West African afrobeats. Radio drove life-saving messaging during the Ebola epidemic.
