Kiribati stretches across all four hemispheres, and Radio Kiribati — operated by the state Broadcasting and Publications Authority from Tarawa — is the thread connecting its scattered atolls, broadcasting in I-Kiribati (Gilbertese) and English. Programming carries shipping and fishing notices, church services for a devout population, and te mwaie traditional dance music alongside Pacific pop. With sea-level rise threatening the entire nation, radio doubles as the platform for climate awareness and disaster alerts.
