Haitian radio is the republic's true public square, dominated by talk and news in Haitian Creole with French in formal programming. Stations like Radio Caraïbes and Signal FM carry enormous influence, and the legacy of Radio Haïti-Inter and murdered journalist Jean Dominique, who pioneered Creole-language broadcast journalism, still shapes the profession. Konpa rules the music mix, alongside rasin roots music, gospel, and diaspora-connected programming.
