The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation's Radio Happy Isles is a genuine national institution — for many villages across the scattered archipelago, its shortwave and FM signals in Pijin and English are the only regular link to the capital. Provincial services and community stations extend coverage, while church programming reflects the islands' strong Christian identity.
