Niue Radio Stations

Niue, one of the world's smallest self-governing nations, is served by the Broadcasting Corporation of Niue, whose radio service — long known as Radio Sunshine — broadcasts in Niuean and English for around 1,600 residents. Programming is intimate by necessity: village show days, church notices, shipping and flight arrivals, and cyclone alerts for an island that took Cyclone Heta's full force in 2004. Niuean-language broadcasting also serves the far larger diaspora in New Zealand.
