Jungle is the sound of early-90s London pirate radio: chopped Amen breaks, cavernous reggae basslines, ragga vocal samples, and a tempo that left house music in the dust. It was Black British rave culture's great invention, birthing drum and bass while remaining its own rawer, sweatier art form. A vibrant revival — Nia Archives, Tim Reaper, Sherelle — has brought the chop back to the foreground. Stations in this genre honor both eras, ideally with an MC on the mic.
