Dubstep crawled out of South London around 2003 — sparse half-time drums at 140 BPM, wobbling sub-bass, and acres of dread-filled space, shaped by pioneers like Skream, Benga, and Digital Mystikz. A decade later, American producers such as Skrillex supersized the drop and took it to festival main stages. Stations in this genre cover both worlds: meditative deep dubstep, riddim, and full-throttle brostep. Best consumed through headphones with serious low-end or speakers your neighbors already hate.
