Hungarian public radio's three historic channels carry the names of national icons: Kossuth for news, Petőfi for pop, and Bartók for classical music. Retro Rádió and Rádió 1 lead the commercial market, playing Hungarian pop and international hits. Magyar is overwhelmingly the language on air, and the country's deep classical and folk traditions, from Liszt to táncház revival music, keep cultural programming unusually prominent.
