Sudan Radio Stations

Sudanese broadcasting centres on Radio Omdurman, the historic state service whose Arabic-language transmissions have carried enormous cultural weight since 1940 — its music archives preserve the golden age of Sudanese song, from Mohammed Wardi to the haqiba tradition. Alongside state radio, private FMs flourished in Khartoum before conflict disrupted the sector, and international broadcasters in Arabic serve audiences through crises. Religious programming and poetry recitation remain deeply woven into the schedule.
